The president and prime minister mourn the death of the emir of Kuwait

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed their deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, an oil-rich Middle Eastern country.

In a separate message of condolence, they prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul and conveyed their deepest condolences to the bereaved royal family and sister people of that country.

The leaders pointed out that Sheikh Sabah was a world leader dedicated to the interests of the Muslim world. He was a true friend from Bangladesh. Under the leadership of Sheikh Sabah, a new dimension was added on Bangladesh and Kuwait.

The President and Prime Minister recalled with gratitude the role of the Emir of Kuwait in the well-being of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Kuwait.

Kuwait’s emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, 91, died Tuesday. Sabah’s half-brother Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf, who has been in the country’s security department for a long time, officially took over as Kuwait’s emir on Wednesday. His assumption of office put an end to all speculation about who would be the next emir of Kuwait.
