However, the British High Commissioner in Dhaka, Robert Dixon, said that there was no obstacle to Khaleda Zia obtaining a visa for the United Kingdom.
Robert made the remarks at an event organized by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association (DKAB) on Wednesday. In response to a question, he said: “Khaleda Zia’s family is in the UK, there are no obstacles from the UK government to obtain a visa.”
Khaleda Zia cannot go abroad even if she wants to. For this you have to request it from the government. You can only go abroad if the government authorizes it. So her going abroad depends a lot on the will or reluctance of the government.
Previously, Khaleda Zia was released on March 25 after serving more than two years in a corruption case. The government released Khaleda Zia for six months after suspending her sentence. Subsequently, the term was extended for another six months.
