Tarekul Islam Tareq, the second defendant in the Sylhet MC College dorm gang rape case, hid his hair, beard and mustache to avoid arrest. He was not saved.
RAB-9 members arrested him in Sunamganj’s Dirai upazila around 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
According to the police, the RAB arrested Badrul, wife and son of Samchu Mia from Kawajuri village in the Jagdal union of the Upazila by mobile tracking around 3pm on Tuesday. Tareq was arrested at Ali Hossain’s home in Garma village around 7:30 pm. At that time, Tareq had no hair on his head and no beard on his face. He even trimmed his mustache to hide.
A total of eight people, including eight defendants, have been arrested in the case. 7 of them have been sent to preventive detention for 5 days for questioning.
By the way, the young woman was gang-raped while walking with her husband at MC College last Friday. Chhatra League leaders and activists took her husband’s girl by force around 8:30 pm and raped her in the bedroom. At that time, her husband was tied up in front of the university.
The victim’s husband filed a case at the Shahparan Police Station. Three other unidentified leaders and activists of the Chhatra League were charged in the case.
