ECNEC reduced the huge desire to travel abroad

Dhaka: A total of four projects were approved at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (September 29). In two of these projects, Tk 9 crore was required as overseas travel expense, but this has been reduced to Tk 2 crore 20 lakh.

The two projects are the regional development of river transport and the digital zoning of the national land based on mouzas and parcels.

ECNEC Prime Minister and President Sheikh Hasina chaired the ECNEC meeting from Ganobhaban on Tuesday. In addition to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and Planning Minister MA Mannan were also present in Ganobhaban.

On the other hand, interested ministers and secretaries were present in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar NEC conference room. At the end of the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan presented the general problems of the project to journalists.

The Planning Minister said that 45 million taka was requested for trips abroad under the Inland Water Transport Regional Development Project. But at the ECNEC meeting, we have reduced it to Rs 60 lakh. We will allocate for travel abroad, but not unreasonable allowances. Travel expenses have been reduced because of this.

In addition, Rs 5 crore was requested for travel expenses under the National Project for Digital Land Zoning based on mouzas and parcels. The ECNEC meeting has reduced this expenditure to 1.5 million rupees. As a result, the project travel cost was reduced by Tk 3 crore 50 lakh at the ECNEC meeting. As a result, the ECNEC meeting has reduced the travel expenses for the two projects by Tk 8 crore 30 lakh.
