In this situation, the central government gave permission to buy a large number of weapons. The army has long been demanding the modernization of weapons. With that in mind, this time a large number of weapons have been bought, according to central government sources.

According to military sources, India is buying around 72,000 state-of-the-art assault rifles from the United States. The rifles will be delivered to troops stationed along the China-Pakistan border. The troops on the Pakistan-China border still have the most advanced weapons. But the army said a few days ago that the rifles they had were out of date. With that in mind, plans have been made to purchase a state-of-the-art rifle.

In addition to the rifles, intelligent anti-airfield weapons systems will be purchased. The weapons will be delivered to the Navy. These weapons will also be delivered to the Air Force. India still has anti-airfield weapons. But the new anti-airfield weapon that is purchased at a cost of Rs 960 crore is much more powerful, army sources said. The cost of buying an assault rifle is Tk 80 crore.

The modernization work of the Indian ground forces started since 2016. Light machine guns, rifles, carbines are being replaced. In addition to rifles, modern machine guns and carbines are also bought at the bar. At the same time, advanced radios are also being bought. The transmission of that radio device will not be able to trace opposition forces at the border, army sources said.
