A man named Monir Hossain has been arrested for raping his daughter in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur. The victim’s mother has filed a case with the police station alleging indecency and rape more than once. Monir was arrested on Monday (September 26).
According to the complaint, Monir lived in Dhaka with his wife, two sons and a 14-year-old daughter. They moved into the village house due to the closure. On September 22, he raped his daughter while Monir slept late into the night. At the time, he threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about the incident. On September 25, the mother went to Dhaka with her daughter. Then the girl told her mother about the rape. Subsequently, the mother rushed to the area with her daughter and after hearing the description of her mother-in-law’s face, she filed a rape case with the police station.
The victim’s mother said: ‘Monir also threatened not to marry his daughter. The daughter was silent for fear of her father. I did not dare to open the matter because I was not at home.
According to locals, Monir is involved in drugs and mockery in the area. They want to hang Monir.
Abdur Rakib, officer in charge of the Faridganj police station, said: “We have registered a case against the victim’s mother after verifying her allegations and general problems.” He was arrested Monday morning. Later, the court sent him to jail. The victim was sent to the Chandpur Government General Hospital with 250 beds for a medical examination. For a long time, Monir used to abuse his daughter. Later she was raped. The victim also spoke of rape in front of her father.
