A 23-year-old housewife was gang-raped while searching for her husband and sister in the Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj.
On Monday night, the victim’s housewife filed a case with the Siddhirganj Police Station mentioning the names of two people. However, the police were unable to arrest anyone.
The defendants in the case are Mohsin Biswas, 35, the son of Samsul Biswas from Gazipur Sardaganj and his friend Ramzan Mia, 32, from the Keshabganj area of Sirajganj.
Referring to the case, the victim said: ‘My husband and my younger sister have been missing for about a month. In search of them, I went to the Saheb Bazar area of Siddhirganj from Munshiganj at 8pm on Sunday. There I met my husband’s friend, Mohsin Biswas. He took me with him because he knew where to find my husband. Later, they took her to a four-story building under construction in Sahebpara and raped her. Later, when her friend called Ramzan, he also raped her. When I passed out, they left me and fled.
Siddhirganj Police Officer in Charge (CO) Kamrul Farooq told The Daily Star: The operation continues to arrest the defendants in the case. The woman will be sent to Narayanganj General Hospital tomorrow morning.
