Confirming the incident, PP Swapan Kumar Pal of the Faridpur Abuse Suppression of Women and Children Court said that the court had sentenced Piyas to life imprisonment and fined him 50,000 rupees if the rape allegations against him were further proven. of all doubt.
He said that there was no possibility of default in case the defendant had to pay the fine.
According to the details of the case, on September 23, 2016, around 6 p.m., the JSC student was returning home after studying at the training center in the high-market area of Bhanga Upazila Nurullaganj Union. On the way, when Fukurhati Mia passed the house, Piyas, who was already on the prowl, wrapped her face in the veil and led her to the side of the road. He later raped her on that show.
At that moment, when the locals came forward shouting at the girl, Pius Mia fled.
The next day, the girl’s mother became the plaintiff and filed a case against Piyas under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act.
On November 26 of that year, the investigating officer in the case, Deputy Inspector of the Bhanga Abdullah Azad Police Station, filed a charge sheet against the defendant Piyas.
Expressing satisfaction with the verdict, the plaintiff’s mother said: “I am satisfied with the verdict. We have received justice.”
