A meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs recommended a monthly fee of Taka 20,000 for freedom fighters.

The recommendation was made at a committee meeting chaired by Shahjahan Khan in Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday.

The committee members were the Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Muslem Uddin Ahmed.

After reviewing the honors received by the heroic freedom fighters, it was recommended to increase the monthly fees of the heroic freedom fighters by eight thousand rupees to a total of twenty thousand rupees so that the freedom fighters can live a longer life. prosperous.

At the meeting, it was decided to issue a letter signed by the secretary on the use of the word ‘Bir’ before the names of the freedom fighters in all the organizations with which the freedom fighters have contact, including the Bank from Bangladesh.

A three-member investigative committee was formed with Shajahan Khan as coordinator and Kazi Firoz Rashid and Muslem Uddin Ahmed as committee members to verify the accusations.

It was reported at the meeting that the registration of the National Council of Freedom Fighters (Jamuka) had been canceled on the recommendation of the parliamentary committee as some land grabbing organizations were involved in various irregularities and corruption in the name of the liberation war. .

At the meeting, it was decided to name the roads in their respective areas in honor of the heroic freedom fighters as they are the best children in the nation.

There is a published definition to identify heroic freedom fighters. At the next meeting it was decided to discuss whether it is necessary to add or subtract more words in this definition.
