Habiganj: Rabiul has been arrested from Habiganj in the dormitory of MC College in Sylhet. About an hour ago, another defendant in the case, Shah Mahbubur Rahman aka Rony, was allegedly detained by the RAB.
The District Detective Division (DB) arrested Rabiul de Inatganj in the district’s Nabiganj upazila on Sunday (November 26) at 9.30pm.

Rabiul is the son of Delwar Hossain from Bara Nagdi village in the Jagdal junction of Dirai upazila of Sunamganj. He said that Rabiul is the fifth defendant in the rape case. The details of his arrest will be released later.
A newlywed couple from South Surma drove to MC College in a private car on Friday afternoon. In the afternoon, six MC College BCL leaders and activists grabbed the husbands and took them to the dormitory and beat them first. He later gang raped his wife while holding her husband captive. Each of the BCL leaders lives in the dormitory. They are followers of the leader of the Awami League, Advocate Ranjit Sarkar Group, based in Tilagarh.
Early Sunday morning, Detective Branch (DB) arrested Arjun Laskar, 25, charged in the Madhabpur rape case in Habiganj. On the same day, Saifur Rahman (26) was arrested in Chhatak in Sunamganj. Another defendant, Shah Mahbubur Rahman, alias Rony (25), was detained by the RAB overnight. In all, four defendants were arrested in the rape case.
