The main defendant in the incident of binding the husband and raping his wife in the dormitory of MC College in Sylhet. After Saifur Rahman, the fourth defendant Arjun Laskar has been arrested.
Arjun was arrested in Habiganj on Sunday morning. Earlier, the main defendant M. Saifur Rahman was arrested in Sunamganj.
The victim’s husband had filed a case against Saifur Rahman at the city’s Shahparan Police Station on Saturday morning (September 26), and had named six people as main defendants in the rape case and three others. as accused.
The defendants are MC College BCL leader M Saifur Rahman, Shah Mohammad, a student from the English department. Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Tareq Ahmed, Arjun Laskar, Rabiul Islam, and Mahfuzur Rahman Mashum. Although the defendants Tareq and Rabiul are outsiders, the other four are MC College students. All of the defendants are said to be involved in BCL politics.
After the incident, the police launched an operation to catch the accused. Police also recovered a pipe pistol, four Ramdas, a knife and two iron pipes from Saifur’s room around 2 a.m. Friday.
It is known that the husband and wife went to visit MC College on Friday night. At that time, 5-6 boys from the university campus took the couple to the university residence. There, they locked the husband in a room and gang-raped his wife. The Shahparan police rescued the raped girl and admitted her to the OCC center of the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
