The boy was rescued at midnight Friday and admitted to Sherpur District Hospital after initial treatment at the Sreevardi Upazila Health Complex. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Saturday.

According to police and local sources, Ahsan Habib Shakil, deputy general secretary of the Sreevardi Upazila Awami League, lives with his wife and children on the sixth floor of the Bithi Tower in the city. Sadia Parveen Feli, daughter of Saiful Islam from Munshipara in the municipal city, worked as a domestic worker at her home for about a year. From the beginning, Shakil’s wife, Rumana Zaman Jhumur, had been torturing the boy under various pretexts. The level of torture increases day by day. The boy fell seriously ill after being tortured for the past 15 days and was sent to his father’s home two days ago. The boy’s family called 999 last Friday night to report the incident and police admitted the boy to hospital. At the same time, the defendant Jhumur was arrested. Felli, a victim of torture at the hospital, said that not only was he physically abused, but he did not receive proper food. If he wanted to go home, the housewife hit him more. He didn’t even let me meet my parents. And no one else in the house would come to stop him during the beating.

Felli’s father, Saiful Islam, said: ‘Animals are not tortured in this way. I hired the girl in the hope that she would be happy in the leader’s house and have good food. And they are trying to kill my daughter. I want a fair trial. ‘

Khairul Kabir Sumon, a residential doctor at the district hospital, said the boy had numerous old and new scars all over his body. Sensitive body parts were not left out. There is water in the stomach. The child’s condition is critical.

The Pakundia correspondent (Kishoreganj) said that Moni, a child domestic worker who was tortured at her home in Azampur in the capital, was rescued by her mother from the home on September 21 and taken to the Upazila Health Complex in Pakundia. The boy has been groaning in the hospital for the past five days.

According to family sources, Maryam, daughter of Innach Ali from the neighboring town of Taldashi, brought Moni as a maid to the Royal-Jaba couple’s home in Azampur, Dhaka, about eight months ago. The couple rented an apartment in Sector 5 of Azampur Uttara. A few days later, housewife Jaba Begum began to harass and torture Moni for various issues.

Moni, who is receiving treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, said she had to work from dawn until late at night. But the housewife did not give him the proper food. From time to time he gave rotten food. These couldn’t eat them. And if we talked about that, the torture would increase. Jaba Begum, the housekeeper, used to burn hot khunti whenever she was a little late for any work. They beat him with a stick and a rolling pin. Now he cannot walk with his injured body.

Nilufa Begum, the boy’s mother, said: ‘There are numerous wounds all over the girl’s body due to the burning and blows of the beak. The whole body is rotting. God knows if my son will be able to recover. I want to punish that woman. ‘

Monir’s father, Abdul Motalib, said: “Maryam took her daughter to a house in Dhaka without informing us and gave her a job as a domestic worker. When she wanted to return the girl, she hesitated. This is Mary’s business. She used to work as a maid in different houses in Dhaka with the village girls.

Miriam said: ‘I took Moni to that house as a maid. But I don’t know if they beat him there. ‘ However, the full address of the house could not be obtained from Maryam.

When contacted on her mobile phone, housewife Jaba said that Moni had not been beaten. She fell ill. So they brought their mother with the news and delivered it to her. When asked about her home address, she avoided the issue.

Pakundia Police Inspector (investigation) Shyamal Mia said that the child’s guardian had been asked to submit a written complaint. If a complaint is received, it will be sent to the corresponding police station to take the necessary measures.
