After returning to the hospital, the housewife remained silent out of fear, the RAB official said. “When Sajal called the woman’s mobile again after last Thursday night, Sajal said that her husband had caught her and collected blood. When she received a call and asked for blood, the woman told her husband about Sajal.
“After that, the woman and her husband reported the entire incident in writing to the captain of RAB-2. The RAB investigated and found the truth and arrested them Friday night.”
Police Superintendent Zahid Ahsan said Sajal was unemployed. It has suffered from going public. They have their own home in Shewrapara, Mirpur. His mother has been admitted to the hospital since September 10.
He said that Sajal had to stay in the hospital because of his mother. “The arrested Mashnuara Begum aka Shilpi is divorced. He lives alone at his home in Madhyamanipur, Mirpur. There he rented a room by the hour for money.
“Sajal used to bring his daughter to this house and admitted that he was having an affair with the artist.”
The raped woman is a nurse in a community clinic. Her husband is a farmer.
