Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Moha has said that the firing process of 26 policemen has started as they tested positive for drugs. Islam Shafiqul.
He made the remarks after inaugurating the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the newly formed Traffic Mirpur Division of the DMP in Mirpur in the capital on Saturday (September 26).
The DMP commissioner said: “We have tested the drugs of the alleged policemen with drugs.” Of these, 26 members tested positive. The dismissal process for these 26 people has started. We believe that taking action against them in this way will send a clear message to the rest that we will not let anyone down. As a result of our initiative, many have improved and returned from the drug path. 
He added that among the police who are involved in drugs or collaborate with drug traffickers, arrests are being made directly against them. There is no relaxation in this sense.
He also said that the same action is being taken against a police officer involved in drugs, in the same way that action is being taken against a common drug dealer.
Said the Additional Commissioner of DMP (CTTC). Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner (Administration) Mir Rezaul Alam, Additional Commissioner (Intelligence) AKM Hafeez Akter and other senior officials were present.
