Accused of gang rape in MC College dorm

According to various sources, the defendants in the MC College dorm room rape incident on Friday (September 25) are: MC College BCL leader and English department master’s student Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, MC College BCL leader Mahfuzur Rahman Mashum, M Saifur Rahman, Arjun, Rajan Ahmed. And the foreign leaders of BCL, Rabiul and Tareq Ahmed.

Among them, Saifur Rahman’s village house is in Balaganj, Rabiul’s house is in Dirai upazila of Sunamganj district, Mahfuzur Rahman Mashum’s house is in Sylhet Sadar upazila, Arjun’s house is in Zakiganj de Sylhet, the Rony’s home is in Habiganj and Tareq from Sunam upaganj is a resident of Sunamganj.

The defendant could not be apprehended until the report was written at 3 pm on Friday. However, an operation is underway to arrest them, said Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (CO) of Shah Paran Police Station.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Jortimoy Sarkar told banglanews that the husband of the gang-raped woman lived in the South Surma area of ​​Sylhet. The woman’s husband alleged that he had gone to the Tilagarh area with his wife on Friday afternoon. At that time, four / five young people took them hostage and took them into the bedroom. Later they raped his wife on a street inside the bedroom. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the bedroom and rescued the couple. The raped woman was admitted to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital at night.

Meanwhile, locals said that after receiving the news in the evening, several leaders of the Awami League and some former leaders of the Chhatra League from the Tilagarh area arrived at the scene. At first, some local leaders of the Awami League tried to cover up the incident. They also tried to reach a compromise. Police also initially avoided the incident to the media. The defendants were able to cover their bodies due to long delays in trying to cover up. However, when the matter came to light later, the leaders of the Awami League withdrew from the mischievous attempt to cover it up.

According to police and local sources, the newlyweds went to MC College in a private car on Friday afternoon. In the afternoon, six leaders and activists from the MC College Chhatra League grabbed the husbands and took them to the bedroom and beat them first. He later gang raped his wife while holding her husband captive. Each of the BCL leaders and activists lives in the bedroom. They are known to be leaders and activists of the Tilagarh-based Ranjit Group.

Kaiyum Chowdhury, OC of Shah Paran Police Station in Sylhet, denied the accusation of trying to compromise. The raped woman was later admitted to the OCC center at Osmani Hospital. The operation continues to arrest those involved in the incident.
