Two people were seriously injured in a knife attack near the former office of the controversial French fantasy magazine Shirley Hebdo. Authorities say a suspect and another from an unknown location were detained in the area near the Bastille after the attack in Paris on Friday (September 25). French authorities say counterterrorism police have already launched an investigation into the incident. This information has been known by the report of the British media BBC.
On January 8, 2015, 12 people, including a cartoonist, were killed in a terrorist attack at Shirley Abdor’s office. Shirley Abdo journalists and cartoonists have been targeted by terrorist attacks after a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was published. A trial is underway in Paris against 14 people accused of aiding two terrorists in the incident. Meanwhile, a knife attack occurred.
The 11th arrondissement in eastern Paris was cordoned off after Friday’s attack. The public has been asked to avoid the area. A sharp knife that was used to cut the meat was recovered from the site. Police said they arrested a suspect after blood was found on his clothing.
The French authorities have not yet ruled on the condition of the two people injured in the attack. However, Prime Minister Jane Castex said at the scene that their lives were not in danger. One of her colleagues said that the two injured were production workers for a television company.
An employee of Premier’s Lignes Production Company said: ‘Two of my colleagues were standing on the street outside the building, smoking cigarettes. I heard the sound. I went to the window and saw a bloody colleague of ours, a man chasing him down the street with a knife.
Shirley Hebdo’s old office was next to the producer’s office. However, it has been moved to a secret location since the 2015 attack.
Meanwhile, French counterterrorism prosecutor Jean-François Richard told a news conference that the main suspect in the knife attack had been arrested. A second person has also been arrested. He said the investigation would continue.
