The price of all types of gold in the country market has decreased by 2,449 taka. The highest price for good quality gold (22 karat) will be Rs 74,006 per ounce.
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said this in a press release on Thursday (September 24). The new gold price will be effective as of Thursday, according to the notification.
According to Bajus, the price of gold and silver ornaments was set in the Bangladeshi market as of September 24 according to Bajus decision considering buyers, as the price of gold has dropped in the international market.
The press release said: “As of today (September 24), the price of good quality gold has been reduced by Tk 2,449 for 22 carats of weight (11.64 grams) to Tk 74,006.” The price of 21 karat gold has been set at Tk 80,759, 18 karat gold at Tk 72,111 and traditional gold at Tk 51,006.
However, the price of silver has been set at Tk 933. Depending on the category, the price of 22 karat heavy silver has been set at 1516 rupees. The price of 21 karat silver has been set at Rs 1,435, 18 karat silver at Rs 1,225 and traditional silver at Rs 933.
Previously, on September 18, Bajus had increased Tk 2,449 per fill. Previously, Bajus had lowered the price of gold on August 13 and 21.
Based on the price set on September 16, 22 karat gold was sold at Tk 8,457, 21 karat gold at Tk 83,307, 18 karat gold at Tk 64,580 and traditional gold at Tk 54,236 until Wednesday.
