Health department ready to deal with second corona wave: Health minister

Health Minister Zahid Malek has said that the second wave of corona virus infection has started in the country. The Health Minister made the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMC) modernization, quality medical services and education expansion as the main guest on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday (23 of September).

The health minister said the government was aware of the second phase of the crown, but a decision on the closure had not yet been made. He said that people are leaving their homes in search of life and sustenance. Indifference is noted in following hygiene rules. However, the health department, including doctors and nurses, is ready to face the second wave.

The Health Minister further said that various ceremonies are held in winter, including weddings and picnics. There is a risk of increased coronary heart disease due to overcrowding. Therefore, it is necessary to refrain from organizing these events. He urged people to respect health standards and the media to come forward.
