Dhaka: A gate across Sarugali from the road in the Baman Tech area of South Kamarpara below the Turag Police Station. Upon entering, you can see two buildings.

Haji Complex No. 42 on the left side and another building on the right side. Nargis Akhter owns a 6-story building on six kathas of land. She is the first wife of the driver Abdul Malek alias Badal Haji alias Driver Malek (63). There are empty 10/12 katha pitches next to the house. However, no Prado cars were seen inside.

Tile the entire staircase from the ground floor to the seventh floor of the building. The whole building has 14 houses. Looking at the door of the third floor of the building, it is understood that the owner of the building lives there. Driver Malek lives with his family on the entire third floor. He built this house in 2014 at a cost of millions of rupees.

The door in front of Abdul Malek’s apartment is no less than the door of a palace or a palace. The door is made entirely of wood, elaborate. The artisan design is like the door of a king’s palace. There is also luxury furniture inside the apartment. There is no way to understand that this is the residence of a third class government employee.

However, many in the Bamna tech area knew that Abdul Malek was a senior government official. The locals could not understand that he was a driver as they saw him move around in his luxurious home and in the expensive Prado government car.

Driver Malek’s rise came after he befriended the director general of the health department in 2009-10 and scammed millions of rupees by trading with at least 100 people. After that, he began to syndicate and share the pension money for retirees. Go to the forest and have a lot of money and property. As a result, he began to live a luxurious royal life.

There is a cattle farm called ‘Emon Dairy Farm’ on a 15 katha lot behind his residence in South Kamarpara. However, the host Malek named the place in honor of his eldest daughter, Naurin Sultana Bailey. Bailey works as an office assistant in the Health Department. Apart from this, there is a ten-story building under construction at Dhanmondi 23, Free School Road, Hatirpule in the ancestral land of four and a half katha.

Although Abdul Malek’s family claims that the accusations made against him by the RAB are completely unfounded. He is a good man. The properties being discussed are the ancestral (father’s) properties of Abdul Malik. These properties are not built with illegal money.

Nazneen Sultana, daughter of the arrested Abdul Malek, told banglanews that this is my father’s (Abdul Malek) house in South Kamarpara. And the building under construction in Hatirpule in Dhanmondi was my grandfather’s. There is a dispute between our parents and uncles over that property.

The family claims that Abdul Malek receives a salary of Taka 40,000 a month for his work.

Nazneen Sultana further said that the house in Kamarpara was built in 2014 with a loan of Tk 60 lakh from Prime Bank and with our money. Over a crore of rupees has been spent to build this house. And the car that RAB is talking about is your office car. My father does not have a private car. The Kamarpara dairy farm was owned by my grandfather. Given to my father and uncle after the death of my grandfather. That land is ancestral property of the father.

He said administrative officials came and searched the entire house and found nothing. They later received a pistol from one room and bullets and counterfeit money from another. But we don’t know where this came from. They showed them without finding anything in the house. RAB says, my father has 100 million rupees. We have never seen so much money. And how will my father send money abroad? Radhab says, two houses. But we actually have a home. The name of the owner of the house next door. Jinnah.

Abdul Malek, alias Badal Haji, a driver for the health department’s transportation group, was arrested by the RAB on September 20 at around 3:15 pm on charges of trafficking in illegal weapons and counterfeit bills and extortion. RAB confiscated illegal weapons and ammunition and counterfeit bills from the bedroom of his residence in South Kamarpara. The next day (September 21) said the police inspector RAB-1 (city and vehicle). Alamgir Hossain filed two separate cases against Abdul Malek under the Gun Law and the Special Powers Law at Turag Police Station. The court granted Abdul Malek a preventive detention of 14 days for seven days in two cases.

According to the statement in the case, a search of Abdul Malek’s bedroom at his home yielded 100 Tk 1,000 notes (each with serial number A136983) and 100 Tk 500 notes (each serial number 436046). They have been reviewed by the machine and confirmed to be bogus notes. When questioned in front of witnesses present at the raid, the defendant Abdul Malik admitted that he had kept the seized counterfeit notes for sale.

A foreign pistol with a chocolate-colored wooden stock attached to a trigger and firing pin was also searched under the mattress of the bed of the defendant Abdul Malek’s bedroom. However, there is nothing written on the gun. Also available is a magazine and 5 bounce shots (7.75 KF). The defendant was unable to show a valid license for the seized weapon. Two separate cases were filed under Section 19A of the Weapons Act and Section 469-C of Act 25A of the Penal Code of the Special Powers Act for possession of these illegal weapons and counterfeit money.

Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, director of the RAB’s media and legal wing, told Bangladesh that Abdul Malek was a third-class employee of the health department. He was arrested for violating criminal law. There is a big difference in expenses with your income. We know the details about Abdul Malek after his arrest. He has become the owner of a huge amount of money illegally. The RAB has no statement on Malek’s ownership.
