Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that action will be taken against the former Vice President (VP) of the Central Student Union of Dhaka University, Nurul Haque Nur, in the case brought by the girl.
He was answering a question from journalists after a performance at the Police Personnel School in Mirpur, the capital, on Tuesday afternoon.
When asked about the case brought against Nur, the Interior Minister said: “A case has been brought against Nur. The police are investigating. We have all the knowledge. The police are investigating how it should be approached. measures in accordance with the law.
Earlier, he was arrested on Monday (September 21) around 8.30pm. He was arrested on charges of rape and assault on the police. Then they took him to DB’s office. Soon after, he was released.
A Dhaka University (DU) student presented the case to the Lalbagh Police Station on the night of September 20. A total of six people have been charged in the case. Among them, Nurul Haque Nur has been mentioned as an accessory to the rape.
