Sick Sapphire was returning home after seeing the doctor.
A schoolgirl has been stabbed to death in Savar for rejecting a love proposal. The incident took place inside an abandoned house in the Kazi Mokmapara mahalla of the Savar municipal area around 9pm on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Neela Roy, 15 years old. She was returning home at the time after seeing the doctor.
She is the daughter of Narayan Roy from Balirtek village under Singair Police Station in Manikganj. She used to live with her family in a cool villa in Kazi Mokmapara Mahalla of the municipal area. Nila was studying in the tenth class at the local Aced school. On the other hand, the defendant Bakhate Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury (22) is a student of the local Collegex College. He has been on the run since the incident.
According to the police and family sources of the victim, the schoolgirl Nila Roy and the talented young man Mizanur Rahman are residents of the municipality. This time, Mizanur had been proposing love to Nila Roy for a long time. But for religious reasons, Nila turned down her offer. From then on, Mizanur used to tease him in various ways at different times.
Sapphire was coming home from the hospital with her brother around 9pm on Sunday. When they reached the alley by the Savar girls’ school, Bakhate Mizanur and some of her associates, who were already waiting, stopped their rickshaw. Later, Sapphire and her brother were forcibly pulled from the rickshaw and taken to an abandoned house on A-61/4 Mizan. There he insults Sapphire in vulgar language and shows fear of accepting her proposal. But Neela didn’t agree to this either, so Mizanur got angry and stabbed Neela one after another and ran away. At that moment, the locals came to the place yelling Neela. Neela, seriously injured, was transferred to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital. She died at night while being treated there.
Model police station inspector Savar (investigation) Saiful Islam said the scene has been inspected. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy. A murder case has been filed in this incident.
Dhaka District Additional Police (Crime) Superintendent Saidur Rahman said that police were conducting operations to arrest those involved in the incident. Anyone involved in the killings will be brought to justice.
