Golam Rabbani, General Secretary (GS) of the Central Student Union of Dhaka University (Daksu), wants an impartial investigation into the rape case against Vice President (Vice President) Nurul Haque Nur.
He made the claim on Monday night (September 21) through a given status on his verified personal account on social media Facebook.
Rabbani wrote in the state: ‘New news in the input-chronology-comment box is quite popular. A Dhaka University student filed a case against former Dakshur Vice President Nurul Haque Nur Saheb last night at Lalbagh Police Station, alleging rape. The main defendant in the case is Hasan Al Mamun. Nur has been charged with complicity and complicity in the rape.
The victim alleged that she was raped on January 3 of this year at a house on Nawabganj Road in Lalbagh.
He writes: “In the investigation of this delicate case, Mr. Nur’s position, political position or ideology should not be considered as a regulator or influencer. The allegation is expected to be properly and impartially investigated as soon as possible, legal action will be taken if convicted and acquitted if innocent.
Earlier in the evening on Sunday (September 20), a student from Dhaka University (DU) presented the case at the Lalbagh Police Station. The court has set October 8 for the presentation of the investigation report of the case.
A total of six people have been charged in the case. Among them, Nurul Haque Nur has been mentioned as an accessory to the rape.
Biplob Vijay Talukder, deputy commissioner of the Lalbagh Police Division, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Hasan Al Mamun, coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, has become the main defendant in the case. Hasan Al Mamun’s house on Nawabganj Bara Masjid Road of the Lalbagh Police Station has been mentioned as the place of the rape.
The applicant student lives in DU’s Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall.
Apart from Nur and Mamun, the other defendants in the case are: Nazmul Hasan Sohag, Joint Coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, Joint Coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council (2) Md. Saiful Islam, Vice President of the Council of Student Rights. Nazmul Huda and DU student Abdullah Hill Baki.
