Former Vice President (VP) of the Dhaka University Central Student Union (VPU) Nurul Haque Nur, who was arrested as an accessory to the rapist in a rape case, has been brought to the DB office.
Earlier on Monday (September 21), he was arrested, said DB Joint Commissioner Mahbub Alam.
He said: ‘He has been arrested in the DU area in the Lalbagh Police Station case.
Walid Hossain, deputy commissioner for the DMP’s media and public relations department, said the arrest warrant would remain in DB’s office. The questioning will take place in the DB office. Then it will be decided to send him to court.
Earlier in the evening on Sunday (September 20), a student from Dhaka University (DU) presented the case at the Lalbagh Police Station. A total of six people have been charged in the case. Among them, Nurul Haque Nur has been mentioned as an accessory to the rape.
Meanwhile, the court set October 8 for the presentation of the investigation report of the case. On Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara accepted the statement in the case and set the date for the presentation of the report.
