Former Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students Union Nurul Haque Nur has been detained again by the detective police of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at midnight. At 11:45 p.m. Monday, a team of detectives took Nur into custody and picked him up in a vehicle from the back door of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
At that point, detectives picked up Nur in a car through the Dhaka Medical pocket door and pulled him out. Nur supporters tried to obstruct the car. At one point, the police left the hospital with Nur.
Earlier on Monday (September 21) around 6:30 pm, the Bangladesh Student Rights Council organized a procession to protest the rape case against Nur. When the procession headed to the Matsya Bhaban area of Dhaka University, the police stopped it. Nur was arrested on charges of obstructing police work. Shortly after his arrest, Nurul Haque Nur, former Vice President (VP) of the Central Student Parliament of Dhaka University, was released. DB’s joint commissioner Mahbub Alam confirmed the matter to the media.

A Dhaka University (DU) student presented the case at the Lalbagh Police Station on Sunday night (September 20). A total of six people have been charged in the case. Among them, Nurul Haque Nur has been mentioned as an accessory to the rape. The Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad held a protest in front of the Raju sculpture on Monday (September 21) afternoon in protest of a rape case brought by a depleted uranium student against Lal and six other people at the police station in Lalbagh. Meanwhile, five policemen injured in a chase with the student council have received first aid at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, the court has set October 8 for the presentation of the investigation report of the case. On Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara accepted the statement in the case and set the date for the presentation of the report.

Hasan Al Mamun, coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, has become the main defendant in the case. Hasan Al Mamun’s house on Nawabganj Bara Masjid Road of the Lalbagh Police Station has been mentioned as the place of the rape.
Apart from Nur and Mamun, the other defendants in the case are: Nazmul Hasan Sohag, Joint Coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, Joint Coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council (2) Md. Saiful Islam, Vice President of the Council of Student Rights. Nazmul Huda and DU student Abdullah Hill Baki.
