Nur was released from the DB office at 1:15 pm. The leader of the Student Rights Council, Muhammad Rashed Khan, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.

Earlier, the former Vice President of the Dhaka University Central Student Parliament Nurul Haque Nur and his associate Sohrab were taken to DB’s car around 12:15 pm after treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

On Monday night, DB Joint Commissioner Mahbub Alam confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.

“The decision to release Nur has already been made,” he said. It has been officially released. Since he was ill, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College for treatment. He was taken to DB’s car to be delivered due to illness.

A source from DMP told the Daily Star around 12 pm, “Nur was taken back to the DB office for official release formalities.”

Student Rights Council leader Muhammad Rashed Khan told the Daily Star at 12:30 pm: “DB ADC Nazmul said that Nur will be released after the official process. Our staff were told to wait outside the DB office.

DB police took Nur and four other people to the DMK emergency department at night, The Daily Star reported. Mohammad Alauddin.

He said: ‘DB police took four people, including former Vice President Noor, to the hospital. X-rays have been taken in some places, including Noor’s chest and waist. However, its condition is good. They do not need to be hospitalized.

Mahbub Alam, DB Deputy Police Commissioner, told The Daily Star around 9.50 pm: “The police released seven people, including Vice President Noor, hours after their arrest.”

Ramna Division Police, DC Sajjadur Rahman, told The Daily Star: “They blocked the road in front of the Matsya Bhaban and obstructed the work of the police. For this reason, Nur and the rest were arrested.

Police arrested seven people, including Nurul Haque Nur, from the Matsya Bhaban area in the capital at around 9:15 pm.

A rape case was brought against six people, including Nurul Haque Nur, former Vice President of the Central Student Parliament of Dhaka University. A student from Dhaka University presented the case at the Lalbagh Police Station.

The Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Lalbagh Police Station, KM Ashraf Uddin, confirmed the matter but did not provide further details.

It is worth mentioning that Nur was the joint coordinator of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Students’ Rights, which was formed to demand a reform of government service fees. After 28 years, he was elected vice president in the Daksu elections in 2019.
