Dhaka: Former Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Student Parliament (Daksu), Nurul Haque Nur, has been transferred to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) hospital. He was reportedly being treated in the emergency medical department around 10:15 pm on Monday (September 21).
Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, taking hundreds of protesters away by truck. A Dhaka University student sued Nur and six other people for rape. They participated in the protest procession in protest of the case.
Dhaka Medical Police Outpost Inspector SI Bachchu Mia told banglanews that two people, including Vice President Noor, were taken to the medical center in a minibus at around 10:15 pm. They are currently in treatment.
Ramna police arrested six people, including Nur, during a protest on Monday night. Sajjadur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DMP’s Ramna division, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
