The senior secretaries are the finance secretary and the ACC secretary.

Dhaka: The Secretary of Finance, Abdur Rauf Talukder, and the Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Dilwar Bakht, have been appointed chief secretaries by the government.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a separate order on Monday (September 21) naming its senior secretaries.

The order states that Dilwar Bakht’s order will take effect on October 16 and Abdur Rauf Talukder’s order will take effect on October 31.

Rauf Talukder has been Secretary of Finance since July 16, 2016.

Dilwar Bakht, a 1984 BCS regular group administrative cadre, joined as ACC secretary on February 8, 2016. Prior to that, he was a member of the Planning Commission’s Socio-Economic and Infrastructure Department. On November 9 of last year, he went from acting secretary to secretary.

On January 9, 2012, the government introduced the post of Senior Secretary. The post of the senior secretaries follows the cabinet secretary and the prime minister’s chief secretary. The current salary structure includes special scales for cabinet secretaries and senior secretaries and senior secretaries to the prime minister.

The number of senior secretaries in the administration now stands at 15, including these two.
