Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam reiterated that the decision to reopen educational institutions would be made by the ministries concerned. He answered questions from journalists in a limited press conference at the secretariat after the cabinet meeting on Monday (September 21).
Previously, a virtual cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister attended the virtual meeting of Ganobhaban and other members of the Cabinet of the Secretariat.
In a briefing at the secretariat after the meeting, the cabinet secretary said: “The ministries concerned will make a decision on the opening of schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions.” They can decide to open it only when they feel like it.
By the way, after the first crown patient was identified on March 8 in Bangladesh, the educational institution has been closed since March 16. The government has announced a holiday until October 3. However, online teaching continues.
