The ‘Sammilita Parishad’ led by Kazi Salauddin has issued a 36-point manifesto ahead of the Football Federation elections. ‘There are several new promises in this electoral manifesto. One of them is bringing Bangladesh, which is ranked 16th in the FIFA rankings, to 150.
On Sunday (September 20), the leaders of Sammilita Parishad presented the electoral manifesto to the media in a hotel in the capital.
Last time, the 25-point electoral manifesto was issued by the council led by Kazi Salauddin. This time 11 additional points have been added. This year’s manifesto promises a ‘realistic long-term’ plan for the national team, restoring the SAF Championship title, hosting the Bangabandhu Gold Cup regularly, winning the SA Games title, maintaining the continuity of the women’s league and improving the FIFA rankings.
For the development of national and age-based football, it has been promised to formulate a “ precise calendar ”, change teams on time, organize district football leagues within a specified time, bring teams participating in licensed first, second and third division leagues and organize age-based tournaments.
In addition to increasing the number of international standard stadiums, the organization of international football competitions in four stadiums in the country, the remodeling of the lawns, the guarantee of the necessary facilities for the local headquarters of the national football teams and the initiatives to build international standard gyms.
Salauddin, who is fighting for the BFF presidency for the fourth time, promised to play in the 2012 World Cup in Qatar. He claimed that there was a misunderstanding about this. He said, ‘You have a confusion here. I did not say that I would play the World Cup. I said I’ll try to rate. We have to move forward with this goal. We were in 180th place when I arrived. Now I am in 17th place. France, world champions, is not at the top either. ‘
He added: “FIFA friendly matches are important to move up the rankings. The more matches you play, the better your chances. We had a financial crisis, that’s why we couldn’t play that many matches. There is not a full football stadium in this country. We will have a request to the government in this regard. ‘
Speaking about success in his last term, Salauddin claimed that 70-75 percent of the 2016 manifesto has been carried out. He regretted that the remaining 25 percent had not been carried out. However, the success of women’s teams, the World Cup qualifiers in India to draw the national team, the regular Premier League as their success, she said.
