A case has been brought against four individuals under the Digital Security Law at the Fatullah Model Police Station for allegedly granting status to the former Emir of Hefazat-e-Islam Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi on Facebook. Mufti Harunur Rashid, secretary general of the Narayanganj metropolitan Ulema Parishad, presented the case on Sunday afternoon.
On the same day, the police raided the Mahmudpur area in Fatullah and arrested Mufti Alauddin Jihadi, 35, the director of Abtahi Mujaddediya Sunnia Madrasa and Orphanage.
The other defendants in the case are Manik, 15, son of Jhantu Biswas from Jahapur village under the Alamdanga Police Station in Chuadanga District, Abdullah Al Mamun, 18, from Faridpur District and Ahsan Ullah, 18, from the Comilla district.
