Shortly after problems began with the board of directors of Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Hathazari Madrasa, the interim madrasa’s management was announced to prevent all kinds of disturbances after the death of the centennial Allama Ahmad Shafi. According to the pre-arranged announcement, the Shura Committee will meet at the Madrasa on Saturday (September 19) evening. That is where the decision was made. At the same meeting, Allama Junaid Babungari, general secretary of Hifazat-e-Islam, was appointed director of education of the madrasa, said Maulana Noman Faizi, a member of the madrasa’s shura committee.
He told the Bengali Tribune that two decisions have been made at today’s Shura Committee meeting. One of the decisions was to appoint Maulana Sheikh Ahmed, Mufti Abdus Salam and Maulana Yahya directors of the madrasa for the next six months. During these six months, they will lead the madrasa through talks. After six months, the Shura Committee will monitor your activities and make the following decision. Another decision is that Allama Junaid Babungari, the general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, has been appointed director of education for the madrasa. Furthermore, he will act as the Shaikhul Hadith of this madrasa.
Maulana Noman Faizi, Maulana Omar Farooq, Maulana Muhibullah Babungari, Maulana Nurul Islam Jihadi, Maulana Sheikh Ahmed, Maulana Shoaib and Maulana Nur Ahmad were present at the Shura Committee meeting.
It should be noted that in several recent incidents, Allama Junaid Babungari, the general secretary of Hifazat-e-Islam, had an affair with Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the emir of the non-political religious organization. The controversy continues, especially with Ahmed Shafi’s son, Anas Madani. After returning from the hospital last July, Maulana Babunagari was relieved of his duties by Al Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Hathazari Madrasa by Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the current Director General of the Madrasa. After the controversy escalated, the three said there was no problem between them with a video message from the Hefazat-e-Islam page about their son and Babunagari. However, this conflict continues to grow. Last Thursday (September 17), Anas Madani was relieved of his duties as a result of the student movement. Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, CEO of the madrasa since 1986, also resigned. However, after his resignation, he fell ill. He was rushed to Asghar Ali Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
