After the death of Allama Ahmad Shafi, not a single CEO will be appointed at Darul Uloom Muinul Islam Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong for the time being. Instead, a steering committee of three has been formed.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Madrasa Shura Committee after Allama Shafi’s janaza on Saturday. Three people have been selected to lead the madrasa.
The three are the Chief Mufti of Hathazari Madrasa, Mufti Abdus Salam, the current Deputy Director, Maulana Sheikh Ahmed and Maulana Yahya.
Additionally, Maulana Junaid Babungari has been appointed Director of Education and Shaykhul Hadith.
According to sources, the three-member committee will address all of the Hathazari Madrasa work from now on. Everyone will have the same rights. None of them can make a decision alone.
By the way, Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, CEO of Hathazari Madrasa, and Amir of Hifazat-e-Islam, 34, passed away on Friday night.
Allama Shafi was buried in the Maqbaratul Jamia Cemetery adjacent to the Baitul Atiq Jame Mosque in Madrasa on Saturday (September 19) at 2.15 pm after Janaza in the presence of thousands of devotees.
