A father and son were killed in a head-on collision between a van and a minibus in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh. Eleven more people, including women, were injured at that time. The accident took place in Dangri de upazila around 9:30 am on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Emdadul Mokammel Fahad, 32, and his son Turan, 5, from Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur. The injured have been admitted to Nandail and Mymensingh Medical College Hospitals.
The officer in charge of the Nandail Highway Police (OC), Manjurul Haque, confirmed the news, saying that 13 people, including two children and a woman, were riding in a minibus from Bakshiganj in Jamalpur to Nikli Haor in Kishoreganj this morning. At that time, a van bound for Mymensingh collided with the minibus at Dangri in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh.
Nandail Highway Police and fire service personnel rushed to the scene and rescued the victims.
