The district administration has appointed seven executive magistrates in Hathazari, Rangunia and Patia upazilas.
Omar Farooq, executive magistrate of the district administration in charge of Hathazari, told bdnews24.com: “The situation of law and order is generally good.
“His followers from different places are gathering in Hathazari. There are four BGB platoons deployed in Hathazari to deal with any kind of situation. “
Centennial Shafi Hathazari died on Friday, a day after stepping down as CEO of a large madrassa in the face of student protests amid internal conflicts.
He suffered from diabetes, high blood pressure, shortness of breath for a long time, and his health was deteriorating due to old age.
Ahmed Shafi has been the Director General (Muhtamim) of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari since 1986.
He was also the Chairman of the Board of the Bangladesh Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa (BEFAC) as the most important person in one of the oldest Qawmi Madrasas in the country according to the Deoband curriculum.
Leaning on the leadership of Qawmi Madrasa, he acted as the Emir of Hifazat-e-Islam, who had been campaigning for the establishment of the Islamic government.
