Although Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi’s death was due to cardiac arrest, his son Anas Madani claims that his ‘heart failure’ was due to ‘stress’ due to a few days of events and the situation in Hathazari Madrasa.

Amir Shah Ahmad Shafi, director of Hathazari Madrasa in Chittagong, has been under siege for the past 30 years due to two days of protests at Hathazari Madrasa.

The honorable release of Ahmed Shafi was one of the demands made by the protesters after the vandalism and protests inside the madrasah over a dispute between the two parties over the authority of the madrasah.

After Ahmed Shafi died in a Dhaka hospital on Friday night, his son Anas Madani informed the media of his decision about the janaza and the burial of his father.

At one point, Madani said: ‘My father was fine for a long time. Abbajan suddenly fell ill yesterday (Thursday) due to an unfortunate incident and was transferred to Chittagong Medical College. The doctors there called me and told me that my father had suffered a heart attack due to stress. That’s why this is the situation today. ‘

When asked about the Hathazari incident, he said, “I don’t want to say such things with heavy heart in this situation.”

Ahmed Shafi decided to expel his son Anas Madani from the madrasa in addition to his own release at a shura meeting on Thursday night in the face of demands from the protesters in the madrasa.

Madani said that in accordance with Ahmad Shafi’s wishes, his only janaza will be at Hathazari Madrasa at 2 pm on Saturday and then he will be buried in the cemetery there.

‘My father was a fan of janaza all his life. Please do not confuse it with any other sector, ”said Anas Madani.

Crowds flock to Hathazari

Hatahazari Upazila Nirbahi officer Mohammad Ruhul Amin told bdnews24.com that Ahmed Shafi’s body was expected to arrive in Hathazari in a short time and that all preparations were being made for burial there after Janaza at noon.

Mentioning that supporters come from all over the country to attend the janaza, he said, “The people in the area are people.”

That is why it has been decided to deploy BGB, he said.

“As an added precaution, we have decided to deploy the BGB so that anyone can take advantage of any adverse incidents. They will come to the field in time.

He said that so far the situation is normal and that all preparations are progressing normally.

It is known that BGB can be deployed in Fatikchhari and Patia in addition to Hathazari.

It should be noted that the dispute between the two parties over the authority of Hathazari Madrasa has escalated in recent days.
