BGB platoon 10 descends in 4 upazilas from Chittagong

Chittagong: It has been decided to deploy 10 BGB platoons in 4 upazilas of Chittagong to ensure the smooth completion of Janaza of Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi of Hefazat-e-Islam.

The BGB members, headed by six executive magistrates from the Chittagong district administration, will be on duty in Hathazari, Patia, Rangunia and Fatikchhari from Saturday morning (September 19) until further notice.

Among them, 4 platoons will be deployed in Hathazari, 2 platoons in Patiya, 2 platoons in Rangunia and 2 platoons in Fatikchhari. BGB members, led by executive magistrates, will assist law enforcement. ‘

Meanwhile, six executive magistrates from the JM branch of the district administration have been appointed to provide legal instructions to the BGB members.

Among them are Executive Magistrate Sharif Ullah, Abdus Samad Sikder, Mamnoon Ahmed Anik and Md. Umar Farooq will be in charge of Hathazari Upazila.
In addition, the executive magistrate. Fakhrul Islam will be in Rangunia, Executive Magistrate Enamul Hasan in Patiya and Executive Magistrate Ghalib Chowdhury in Fatikchhari.

Hathazari Upazila Executive Director. Ruhul Amin told banglanews that BGB members led by police magistrates and executive magistrates will be on the ground from Saturday to keep law and order normal.

Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi of Hifazat-e-Islam breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the capital’s Asgar Ali Hospital around 6:30 pm on Friday.

Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi suffered from various physical problems for a long time due to old age. In recent years, he has been treated in national and foreign hospitals on several occasions.

The funeral of Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi of Hefazat-e-Islam will be held at Hathazari Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam Madrasa on Saturday after Johar.

Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi was born in the Pakhiartila village of Rangunia upazila in Chittagong. He is the father of two sons and three daughters.

Allama Shafi began his education at Sarafvata Madrasa in Rangunia. Then he studied at Al Jamiatul Arabiya Madrasa (Patia Jiri Madrasa) in Patia.

Later he studied at Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari and Darul Uloom Deoband Madrasa in India.

In 1986, Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi assumed the post of General Director (Muhtamim) of Hathazari Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam Madrasa. He held the position for 34 consecutive years before resigning Thursday to a student movement.

Hathazari Darul Uloom Mueenul Islam Madrasa is the largest and oldest madrasa in the country. Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi ran the Qaumi Madrasas as General Director of this Madrasa.
