Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi from Bangladesh is in critical condition. Doctors advised him to take him to Dhaka by air ambulance if his condition worsened on Friday afternoon. Allama Shafi will be transferred to Dhaka by air ambulance at 4pm.

He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMC) from Hathazari Madrasa in an ambulance at midnight on Thursday. He was subsequently admitted to bed number 7 of the intensive care unit (ICU) on the third floor of the hospital.

The deputy director of the Chittagong Medical College (Chamek) hospital confirmed the matter. Aftabul Islam said, Shafi Hazur suffers from various complex diseases due to old age, including heart disease. A medical board has been formed for his treatment.

On condition of anonymity, a doctor at Chamek Hospital said Allama Shafi’s condition was critical. There were serious heart problems on Thursday. At the same time, water has accumulated in the lungs. Therefore, it has been suggested to take her to Dhaka for better treatment.

The 105-year-old academic suffers from diabetes, hypertension and other geriatric diseases. As a result, he often has to be hospitalized. In recent months, Allama Shafi had to undergo treatment at Chittagong and Dhaka hospitals for several days.
