Russia says it would be a mistake to think of establishing a lasting peace in the Middle East without ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement at the White House on Tuesday that Israel had “normalized” relations with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, long-standing enemies.
Russia says such an agreement has made progress in normalizing relations between Israel and many countries in the Arab world, but the Palestinian problem is still raging.
They say it would be a bad decision to achieve lasting stability in the Middle East without finding a solution to the Palestinian problem.
Moscow has called on regional and international leaders to intensify concerted efforts to resolve the crisis.
Russia is ready to make such a joint effort, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said five more countries were seriously considering normalizing relations with Israel.
Earlier this week, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed a peace agreement with the occupying power. The Reuters news agency reported this information.
He gave the information to reporters at Air Force One on Thursday, but did not elaborate on the five countries.
Air Force One was taking the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to campaign in Wisconsin.
Meadows said all three countries are in the region. But he refused to say more.
Trump hopes that more countries will want to normalize relations with Israel. However, Oman is one of the possible countries.
The country’s ambassador was present at the signing ceremony of the UAE peace agreement with Israel at the White House on Tuesday.
Trump also said that Saudi Arabia finally agreed to establish relations with the illegal state.
