At the moment, there is no possibility for India to comply with its border problem with China. At least that’s what the statement by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in the Rajya Sabha suggests. In Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Rajnath Singh said that China has claimed about 90,000 square kilometers of Arunachal Pradesh.
He added that China had illegally occupied at least 36,000 square kilometers in the Ladakh Union Territory. Furthermore, in accordance with the 1963 China-Pakistan Boundary Agreement, Pakistan has ceded 5,160 square kilometers of Pakistani-administered Kashmir to China.
On the Sino-Indian tensions in Ladakh in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Rajnath Singh said that no power in the world could stop the Indian army patrols in Ladakh.
He blamed Chinese forces for trying to stop Indian troops from patrolling Ladakh.
The defense minister said in response to a question from the opposition that the Indian army’s patrol pattern in East Ladakh would not change at all.
Rajnath Singh pointed out that there is a difference between what China says and what it does. Many members of the Rajya Sabha warned the government that treason was inextricably linked to the character of China. Members of Rajya Sabha said they were all on the side of the Indian army. India has invested heavily in recent years to strengthen border security, Rajnath Singh said.
He added that the Prime Minister had relayed the message to the army in Ladakh after the Galwan clashes that the whole country was on his side. At the Moscow meeting, Rajnath Singh expressed dissatisfaction with the Chinese foreign minister’s aggression by Chinese forces.
Earlier in the day, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in Parliament on Ladakh, saying that China occupied 36,000 square kilometers of Ladakh. In the Sino-Pakistani border agreement of 1963, Pakistan illegally ceded 5,160 square kilometers of Indian territory in Pakistani-administered Kashmir to China. Even then, Beijing is claiming 90,000 square kilometers in Arunachal Pradesh as its own!
