President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his hope for a visit to Bangladesh at the inauguration of the newly constructed Turkish embassy building in Dhaka as soon as the situation in Corona returns to normal.

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Erdogan also called for the expansion of D-8 by adding new member states. He also made specific proposals emphasizing on improving trade relations between the two countries.

This includes investing in new products, textiles, medicines and other sectors, avoiding existing tariff barriers. He hoped that the necessary measures would be taken to ensure participation in trade fairs in both countries.

According to the statement, Turkey’s president has proposed to allocate land for the construction of a modern hospital in Bangladesh with financial assistance from Turkey. He also praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for providing refuge for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

He promised to support Bangladesh in all possible bilateral and international affairs. Erdogan also promised to send more needed help from Turkey on the Corona situation. He expressed satisfaction with the regular meetings between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries at regular intervals at the Chancellery level.
