Barguna: The court has announced the verdict date of 10 adult defendants in the highly disputed Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna on September 30 this year.
Wednesday (September 18) at noon District Judge and Barguna Session. Ashaduzzaman announced the date of the verdict.
The verdict was announced after concluding arguments for and against the 10 adults charged in the Rifat murder case.

According to judicial sources, following the testimony of 8 witnesses against 10 accused adults in the Rifat murder case, the court testified on behalf of one of the accused. The lawyers concerned then presented arguments in court for and against all the defendants.
The court set the date for the verdict after Rifat’s wife, Ayesha Siddique Minni, was acquitted on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Bhuvan Chandra Haldar, the Barguna prosecutor, said the rest of the case’s arguments were presented to the court on the same scheduled day. After discussion, the court set September 30 as the verdict date in the case.
Meanwhile, Minni appeared in court with her father Mozammel Hossain Kishore around 9 am due to the case’s deadline. Eight adults accused in the case were also brought before the court under strict security measures. Strict police security measures were taken throughout the courtroom. All candidates who came to court were registered and brought to court.
Rifat was assassinated in front of Barguna Government College on June 26 of last year. On September 1 of that year, 24 people were charged, both adults and minors; Divided into two parts, the police informed the court. Of these, 10 adults and 14 minors have been charged. On January 1, the Barguna District and Session Court of Judges brought charges against 10 adult defendants in the Rifat murder case. The court then began taking testimony against 10 accused adults as of January 8. A total of 8 witnesses have testified in the case.
The adults charged in the Rifat murder case are: Rakibul Hasan Rifat Faraji, Al Qayyum aka Rabbi Akon, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy aka Tiktak Hridoy, Md. Hasan, Md. Musa, Ayesha Siddique Minni, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, Md. Sagar and Kamrul Islam Simon.
