According to local sources, the pregnant Nipa Rani was admitted to the Seva Clinic and Diagnostic Center in front of the Baufal Hospital by her relatives on Monday (September 15) at noon. Her cesarean section was performed at 5:30 in the afternoon. Nayan Sarkar, a doctor at Patuakhali General Hospital, gave him anesthesia and his wife Punja Bhandari performed a cesarean section. Nayan Sarkar has been appointed from the 39th BCS waiting list.
Nipa Rani’s mother, Shikha Rani, said she has not regained consciousness since her daughter had a cesarean section. At around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, clinic authorities sent her daughter to Barisal in a private ambulance in the name of advanced treatment. When they became suspicious, they were taken to the Luthan Health Care Clinic in Dumki Upazila. There, the emergency room doctor pronounced her daughter dead. Even then they rushed to the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital with their daughter to confirm the matter. The emergency room doctor also pronounced her daughter dead.
Nipa Rani’s husband, Sujan Das, said his wife died due to improper treatment. The clinic authorities sent his late wife to Barisal to cover up the incident.

Delwar Hossain, a member of the management committee of the Baufal Upazila Health Complex, said that despite the district’s civil surgeon announcing the closure of the service’s diagnostic center through a letter, the institution continues to function for invisible reasons. Maternal deaths often occur in the institution.
