Thakurgaon: The Upazila Nirbahi (UNO) officer has fined a trader for selling onions at a higher price while monitoring the market in Thakurgaon.

The fine was imposed on Tuesday (September 15) at noon while monitoring the onion market at the BSCIC cooperative yard in the Municipality Road area of ​​Sadar upazila.

At that time the merchants were told to sell onions at a fair price.

During market monitoring, Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila Nirbahi’s officer, Abdullah-al-Mamun, inspected the grocer’s warehouse and instructed him to sell the onions bought and stored at the old price at a fair price.

He also said that yesterday he bought an onion worth 2,000 taka and sells it today at 75 tak per kg, or 3,000 taka an ounce. Where yesterday the price of the onion was 36 rupees per kg which was 1,520 rupees.

Grocer Abdul Jabbar was fined 5,000 taka for selling onions at a higher price. And there is a fair price list on each patio.

On Tuesday, domestic onions are sold at Tk 65 to 75 per kg and Indian onions at Tk 65 to 70 per kg. 3/4 days ago the price was Rs 50/55 per kg. 45/50 Indian rupees.
