Baby Umme Kulsum had to do everything from cooking, cleaning the house, tidying the house. If you want to stay at the end of the work day or if you want leftover food, it doesn’t match. Grunting like hunger is an everyday thing. The small children of the house also took the food they brought with their own salary. If we talk about all this, the torture would continue.

Kulsum’s son caught the attention of the owner of the house. One day it appeared as an iconic horror. The boy wants to have a physical relationship with the 13-year-old girl. One day he began to force her to take him to the bathroom. Kulsum disagrees with religious discipline. The owner’s son clearly said: “They bring them from Bangladesh for these jobs.” In a word or two, the sword of torture fell on Kulsum. After the persecution, they left him outside the house. Police rescued Kulsum and admitted him to hospital.

Kulsum is no longer alive. After struggling with death for several months, Panja returned home from Saudi Arabia as a corpse. The house of Kulsum alias Sanjidar is in Nurpur village of Gokarna Union in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria. Kulsum was sent to Saudi Arabia about 18 months ago in hopes of returning to his family. Kulsum’s body arrived in the country last Friday night. The following day his body was buried in the area cemetery. On August 9, Kulsum died at King Faisal Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

It is known from father Shahidul Islam and mother Nasima Begum that such brutality was inflicted on Kulsum. Kulsum often spoke of torture on his mobile phone. He used to say don’t eat day after day, don’t get paid. However, Kulsum had no contact with his family for several months. Kulsum made the last call from a nurse’s cell phone in January while she was hospitalized.

A three-and-a-half minute video call shows Umme Kulsum speaking with family members at the hospital. Kafil means owner, he said, torturing him and breaking his leg. She can no longer walk. The video also shows signs of injuries from the waist down.

Mother Nasima Begum burst into tears when she spoke on her mobile phone Monday afternoon to learn of the incident. Shahidul Islam’s father told the reporter that she feared she would not receive justice for killing her daughter. They also demanded justice for the girl’s killers by writing about the issue in the newspapers. Kulsum was the second of three sisters and a brother. He went to Saudi Arabia on April 6, 2019 as a domestic worker. Also, the daughter of Abdur Razzak, the local means to go to Saudi Arabia, also goes there. Kulsum was first sent to Saudi Arabia with 30,000 rupees. Abdur Razzak took 10,000 rupees from Kulsum’s father when it came to giving him a better house. Meanwhile, Abdur Razzak has been on the run since the arrival of Kulsum’s body.

According to the documents, Kulsum passed the final primary education exam in 2016 at the Nurpur Lahajura government primary school in Nasirnagar with a score of 3.06. The certificate indicates that Kulsum was born on December 27, 2006. However, her date of birth is mentioned in her passport as March 13, 1993. Family members manipulated the girl with the help of interested persons to bring prosperity to the family by sending it to Saudi Arabia. The passport was issued on March 6, 2019 from the Brahmanbaria Regional Office. The visa is issued on March 20.

Relatives said the owner of the Saudi home and his son Kulsum broke both legs, arms and waist. Destroyed an eye. The local person who was sent to learn about these tortures was informed about the matter. She also assured that she would give Kulsum another home. The agent in Dhaka also said the same. But that agent’s people stopped communicating at one point.

Nasirnagar police were informed in writing a few months ago about the general situation, including torture and Kulsum’s low wages. Although the written complaint was registered as a general journal (GD), virtually no action was taken, Kulsum’s family alleged.

Meanwhile, Kulsum along with the Director General of the Office of Labor Employment and Training gave a written response on August 18. There he brought his daughter’s body to the country and requested eight months of back pay. He claimed that he had sent her to Saudi Arabia through an organization called Messrs. MH Trade International, alleging physical, mental and sexual abuse. However, the name of Abdur Razzak, a local outlet sent to Saudi Arabia, was not mentioned in the request.

Gokarna Union Parishad President Swab Ahmed Ritul said: “The girl’s father informed me that a GD had been presented at the police station a few months ago. I didn’t know anything after that. Later that day, after learning of the arrival of the girl’s body, I spoke to the police about whether legal action could be taken. The girl’s father said her daughter had been tortured in Saudi Arabia.

Nasirnagar Police Inspector (investigation) said. Kabir Hossain said police were dispatched to the girl’s home after receiving the news. However, documents sent from Saudi Arabia showed that the girl had died a natural death after a long period of treatment. Furthermore, since the bodies arrived in the country through interested persons from both countries, we are unable to take any legal action.

Nazma Ashrafi, an official from Nasirnagar Upazila Nirbahi (UN), told reporters that he was aware of the arrival of Kulsum’s body. If the state seeks the cooperation of the family in this regard, it will be done.
