Although he grew up watching Sadeq Bachchu on screen as a child, Bappi Chowdhury has him as his father in various films. They also had a father-son relationship off-screen. Bappi is devastated by the death of Sadeq Bachchu. You feel powerless.
Bappi Chowdhury told NTV Online this afternoon, ‘Sadek Bachchu used to call me a boy all the time. I used to call him father. He used to give advice like his father. I received advice from my father about the film and everything related to my personal life. ‘
Sadek Bachchu has played the role of Bappi’s father-in-law in the latest movie ‘Swasurbari Zindabad To’. They have been together a long time. Recalling the moment, Bappi Chowdhury said: ‘We had to stay together for several days during the shooting. He would come to my room at the end of the shoot and chat late into the night. When I returned to Dhaka after filming, I took it home every day. He was waiting for me even though the shooting had ended earlier. Not only that, when there were no shots, we would talk on the phone for hours. ‘
Bappi Chowdhury added: ‘My father always asked me to deposit money. If she got money for signing a photo, she asked him to reserve a flat with her. I told him how to pay the rest. Used to say, you can pay the rest of the money this way, book first. I have always tried to obey him. Today I feel powerless after losing my father ”.
Sadek Bachchu died at Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali at 12:05 pm on Monday. He was 65 years old.
The managing director of Universal Medical College Hospital confirmed the information to NTV Online. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty. He said: ‘He’s had heart failure twice since morning. We declared him dead at 12:05 pm.
Sadek Bachchu was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on September 6 after contracting a cold and fever. Then, on September 11, his corona test result was positive. When his condition deteriorated a day later, he was taken to the Universal Medical College Hospital in Mohakhali. There he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Covid Unit.
Sadeq Bachchu is one of the leading actors in Bengali films. He made his film debut in theatrical and television dramas. Sadek Bachchu began performing as a regular BTV artist in 1986-8. His first drama on BTV was ‘Prothom Angikar’.
He received the National Film Award in recognition of his performance. Sadek Bachchu won the award for his film ‘A Cinematic Story’ directed by Nayak Alamgir.
Sadek Bachchu made his acting debut in the 1975 film Ramer Sumati. He is a retired official of the Bangladesh Postal Department.
