9 professors from Rajshahi University (UK) are concerned about the threat of a terrorist attack. For this reason, on Sunday afternoon (13 September), they kept a general diary (GD) at Motihar police station for their own safety.
Motihar Thana Officer in Charge (CO) ASM Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the matter to the Bangla Tribune. He said teachers have kept a simple diary instead of their own safety. We are investigating the matter.
Professors seeking safety are Professor Sultan-ul-Islam, Chairman of the Department of Geology and Mining, Professor Ali Reza of the Department of Management, Professor Asit Roy of the Department of Music, Professor Mujibul Haque Azad Khan of the Department of Psychology, Professor Jahangir Alam Saud from the Department of Biochemistry and Biology, Professor Tarakul from the Department of Chemistry. Hasan, Professor Mizanur Rahman from the Department of Geography and Ecology, Faruk Hossain from Drama and Professor Ekram Ullah, Chairman of the Department of Political Science. All of them were involved in the movement under the banner of Rajshahi University against corruption and irregularities demanding the removal of the current administration.
According to GD copy sources, some college professors were arguing in the Deans Complex lounge on September 10 at noon. At the time, they received word that Mamun, an outsider, and several outsiders, led by Saddam Hussein, an assistant teacher at the UK school, were secretly filming the teachers’ vehicles outside the Deans Complex. Later, when the teachers showed up, they took photos and videos of the teachers.
The teachers complained in the general newspaper that the teachers went ahead to find out the reason for the celebration of the photos and videos, but they left. Along the way, however, they used obscene language and offensive gestures at the teachers. The teachers demanded to ensure their safety in the newspaper, fearing that they could attack and damage their vehicles at any time.
When asked, Professor Sultan-ul-Islam, spokesman for the teachers’ movement under the banner of Rajshahi University against irregularities and corruption, said: “We have filed several complaints of irregularities and corruption with the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education and the UGC “. The UGC has organized an open public hearing on September 18 to hear the complaints. There is publicity on campus that Saddam Hussein, an assistant professor at the UK school, was blessed by the rector. Our idea may have something to do with the audience.
However, Saddam Hussein, an assistant professor at the Rabi School, denied the allegations, saying: “I was on my way home from the Zuberi building on Paris Road.” At that moment I saw the strong voice of the lords. After a while I left. There were no photos or videos.
When asked about foreigners, the university supervisor, Professor Lutfar Rahman, told the Bengali Tribune: “I was outside Rajshahi, I didn’t know about it.” If a complaint is received, action will be taken subject to investigation.
