Due to the corona virus, various restrictions imposed on aircraft are no longer in effect. Starting Sunday (September 13), there will be no restrictions for passengers sitting in airplane seats. Passengers will also be able to sit in the seats. Deputy Air Marshal Mofidur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), confirmed the matter to the media.

Mofidur Rahman said that before, if a passenger was sitting in one seat, the next seat would be empty. From now on that rule no longer exists. Passengers will also be able to sit in the seats. However, according to International Civil Aviation (ICAO) guidelines, the last two rows of seats on each aircraft must be left empty.

Due to the coronavirus, the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority announced the suspension of passenger flights with all countries except the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and domestic routes from March 21 to 31. Another order banned flights to all countries except China until April 6.

Subsequently, the ban was extended to April 14, April 30, May 6, May 18, May 30 and June 15 in coordination with holidays. For the first time since June 17, flights from Dhaka to London and Qatar were allowed. Then flights are being launched to other countries.

It is worth mentioning that since September 6, the two Middle Eastern countries, Oman and Bahrain, have initiated air communications with Bangladesh. Three foreign airlines have already been allowed to operate flights to the two countries.
