In Pekua, Cox’s Bazar, a man was allegedly beaten to death by clenching his testicles due to an argument about cutting down a tree on the road.

The incident took place in the Kadimakata area of ​​the Pekua Barbakia Union on the Pekua-Bashankhali highway around 10 am on Friday (September 11). Pekua police arrested Abdur Rashid and his daughter Urmi Akhter on charges of being involved in the incident as well as recovering the body.

The deceased was identified as Moktar Ahmed, 52, the son of Syed Nur from the Kadimakata area.

Police and eyewitnesses said Barbakia Union’s Kadima Kata Moktar Ahmed went to cut down a tree on the road in the area around 9:30 am on Friday. When he started felling trees, Abdur Rashid from the same area prohibited him from felling trees on the road. There were discussions and clashes between the two parties.

Upon hearing the news, a few more people went to Abdur Rashid’s side around 10 am and joined the incident. At one point, Urmi Akhter, daughter of Abdur Rashid, grabbed Moktar Ahmed’s testicles while he was going to cut down a tree and fell unconscious. At that moment others began to beat him. After the beatings stopped, they found him dead.

The Pekua OC Kamrul Azam Police Station confirmed the information and said the body was recovered after receiving the news. The police also arrested Urmi Akhter and his father Abdur Rashid from the scene. Legal action is being taken against them. The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
