A series of explosions rocked an army depot near the Jordanian city of Zarqa. The government said the explosion was caused by a short circuit.
The city of Zarqa, near Jordan’s capital Amman, was rocked by a powerful explosion early Friday morning. The attacker struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruitment center. The government said there were multiple explosions. However, this army depot is outside the city and there are no people living there.
Jordan’s media minister said a preliminary investigation suggested the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. The warehouse where the mortars and bullets were kept caught fire and exploded. So far no victims have been reported. A committee has been formed to find out why the explosion happened.
The military depot is located on the outskirts of the city of Zarqa, according to the official statement. Where the explosion occurred, there were mortars, ammunition, which can no longer be used. Since this place is outside the city and uninhabited, the common people were not harmed. But not this deposit, there are a few more military buildings.
The people of Zarqa posted photos and videos showing the explosion smashing their windows. Understandably, the intensity of the explosion was overwhelming.
