Lawyer Asif Imtiaz Khan Jisad, 33, the son of former MP Shahidul Islam, died mysteriously in a house in Kanthalbagan, the capital.
The family alleges that he was murdered. Members of Jisad’s father-in-law, on the other hand, claim that he committed suicide by jumping from the roof.

Asif is the son of Shahidul Islam Khan, a defender from the Kamarkhand Bagbari area of Sirajganj. Shahidul Islam was a deputy for the constituency of Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Kamarkhand) in 198-90. Asif became a lawyer and served on the Supreme Court.
The incident took place at a home on Kanthalbagan Free School Street around 4:30 am on Friday. Asif was rescued in critical condition and taken to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Confirming the information on his mobile phone on Friday afternoon, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Kalabagan Police Station, Paritosh Chandra, told Channel I Online: “After receiving the news, we went home and we listened to the statements of the parents and relatives of the deceased. ” According to his wife, Asif was addicted to drugs. Asif was sitting on the veranda at night. Last night he jumped from the ninth floor.
The OC said the incident was being investigated. Details can be told after investigation.
Asif’s brother-in-law, Simon Shahid Nishad, said Asif married his older sister, Sabrina Shahid Nishita, four years ago. Asif’s family did not accept it. For this reason, Asif used to stay with his father-in-law. They do not have kids. Asif’s family lived in Mirpur.
Nishad added that Asif and Sabrina had occasional fights over family matters. Asif was addicted to drugs. He was also in rehab in Uttara for four months.
According to Nishad, there was another fight between husband and wife last night. At one point, Asif jumped over the railing of the ninth floor veranda and fell. He was rescued and taken to Hospital Square. When he was taken to Dhaka Medical College from there, the doctor declared him dead at 5.30 in the morning.
Asif’s father, Shahidul Islam, said that Asif is a lawyer for the Supreme Court. He was legal advisor to Desh Trading Corporation in Motijheel. The people at his father-in-law’s house informed him in the morning that Asif’s condition was not good and they took him to Dhaka Medical College.
“I came here later and saw Asif dead,” he said. Our suspicion is that Asif has been assassinated. He cannot commit suicide.
He demanded a proper investigation into the incident.
DMEC hospital police camp in charge (inspector) said. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said the body was kept in the morgue for an autopsy. Kalabagan police are working to find out the cause of the incident.
